Lesson Plan TPACK model

Integrating TPACK model in primary lesson plan

Today we were introduced to the TPACK model which  helps educators thoughtfully integrate technology into their lessons. It combines three knowledge areas: Technological Knowledge (understanding tech tools), Pedagogical Knowledge (effective teaching strategies), and Content Knowledge (expertise in the subject matter). Imagine these areas as interlocking circles. In a primary lesson, TPACK might be used to create an interactive game about shapes. The teacher (using Technological Knowledge) utilizes an online game platform, while students (applying Pedagogical Knowledge) practice identifying shapes and (using Content Knowledge) learn their properties. This way, technology becomes a tool to enhance, not replace, effective teaching and deepens student learning.

Lesson no. 2

    Lesson Development
    Activity: collaborative learning

    Follow up
  • Facilitate a class discussion using the following guiding questions:
    • What caused the flood in the video?
    • What were the effects of the flood on the people and property?
    • How did people in the video respond to the flood?
  • Encourage students to share their observations and connect them to the concepts introduced earlier.

    Discussion
Bring the class together for a discussion. Briefly review the key points learned about floods (causes, effects).

    Lesson Closure
Distribute an exit ticket where students answer a question like "What is one thing you learned about floods today?" or "Why is it important to be prepared for floods?
