lesson plan SAMR MODEL


SAMAR model is a framework used in education to guide the integration of technology into teaching and learning. It stands for substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition. It helps educators think about how technology can enhance and transform learning experiences.

 lesson no: 1

subject: Science 

Topic: water cycle

Class: 4

Time: 45 mins

TLM: power point, google docs, video link

Previous knowledge: students are familiar with the concepts of water in its different states ( solid, liquid, gas) 

Lesson objectives: At the end of the lesson; 

  • students will be able to identify and explain the four main stages of the water  cycle ( evaporation , condensation, precipitation, collection)
  • students will appreciate the importance of the water cycle for life on earth.
  • Students will be able to create a simple model of the water cycle. 

Introduction (10 minutes):

  • Activate prior knowledge by asking students about the different states of water.
  • Briefly introduce the concept of the water cycle as a continuous journey that water takes.
Lesson Development
-after they get the idea about the topic, I will give the concept of Water cycle by showing a short video clip.


Lesson Activity
Divide the students into four groups and after the division of groups I will provide them with a chart paper, color pencil, marker and pencil in each groups.
After they are provided with the materials they will draw  a clear picture of water cycle and label it.
After they are done with their drawings, one of the members from each group will come in the front and explain their drawing to the class.

Extended learning activity
I will let the students to write the importance of water cycle for life on earth in a piece of paper and let some students to share

lesson Closure
In the lesson closure, i will use exit ticket to check students understanding on water cycle.
Moreover, I will ask the students to bring a water cycle model made in their respective groups.
